As a Senior Program Manger, Ms. Steckel has worked for PRA since 2001 in the Accord, New York office. With a Masters in Public Health from the Irving B. Harris Maternal and Child Health Training Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago as well as experience working for not-for-profit agencies, the medical field, and Northwestern University’s Dr. Stephen Shortell (a leader in health services research) she has managed numerous multi-year, multi-site projects, including PRA’s Community Engagement Process. Further, with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology) from the University of Michigan, Ms. Steckel has technical expertise, which adds to her knowledge of direct service programs in coordinating the development of management information systems. At PRA, Ms. Steckel works closely with Grow Your Own Illinois, the New York State Department of Health, Planned Parenthood of Southwest Ohio Region, the Rapides Foundation, and the Robin Hood Foundation. Ms. Steckel’s work with the Robin Hood Foundation’s Job-Training portfolio (consisting of over thirty grantees) tracks the progress of thousands of participants through training programs and into the labor market. This work includes the development of a cost/benefit analysis as was reported in Fortune Magazine (September 9, 2006).
