Peri Namerow joined PRA in 1995. She has a Ph.D. in Sociomedical Sciences from Columbia University, and has more than 25 years of experience as a program evaluator. She has conducted both basic research and program evaluation in the areas of teenage pregnancy prevention, pregnancy resolution decision making, HIV prevention, obesity prevention, and the effectiveness of food and shelter, Head Start, and family preservation programs. She is also working with the Medicare Rights Center to evaluate their efforts to ensure that its website fulfills its mission of helping people find easy-to-understand, trustworthy answers to their Medicare questions. In designing evaluation strategies with program staff, Peri focuses on selecting outcome measures that closely reflect the program's stated objectives, and on developing data collection tools and procedures that can be easily incorporated into ongoing programs.
