Using Research to Inform Decision Making
Often, service providers do not have the time or resources to engage in research reviews so that they can be current on successful strategies. Successful organizations use "best practices" or strategies that have already been shown to be effective. We help identify these and produce reports based on the results.
- Reviewing relevant literature on an approach or problem
- Summarizing the resultant research in accessible language and in accessible formats
- Helping agencies understand the implications of this research for their own work
- Assisting agencies in understanding their own results by putting them in the context of this research
These reviews often become the basis for future evaluations. The best practices identified allow programs to choose from the best strategies currently in the field. This process often allows programs to see what the field has achieved and poise themselves to add to the literature.
